Another way to look for active connections in Microsoft Windows goes as follows:
Go to Start > Run… > type “cmd” in the dialog box
A MS-DOS will be displayed. Now, type netstat -n
As we can see, there a list of active connections displayed. Before proceeding with the test, it’s highly recommended closing as many active connections as possible -losing internet-dependent programs- leaving just a few of them.
